Mumbai Police: Members from Ravi Pujari gang prosecuted under MCOCA

Mumbai Police has arrested two members from Ravi Pujari gang for allegedly threatening a builder from Goregaon and demanding ransom. The accused – William Albert Rodricks and Aakash Shetty – will be prosecuted under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 (MCOCA). 

This is the first underworld-related case registered under MCOCA in the year 2019. The builder was threatened on a phone call and was asked to provide them with the ransom. The builder filed a police complaint.

Following the same, the police arrested Aakash Shetty in Banglore which led to the arrest of William Rodricks. Both the accused were involved in providing information regarding builders in the city.
