Mumbai Metropolitan Area Development Authority (MMRDA) has suspended its two engineers on the groundsthat both had illegally received Rs 70 crore from a contractors and had issued fake documents so as to help them.
Engineers by the name of AK Pehel and PK Veni have been alleged of issuing fake experience certificates and other fake documents after which the said contractor was able to rope in some tenders in Haryana. The MMRDA has also ordered to conduct a departmental enquiry on both the engineers.
Congress MLA Aslam Shaikh says that all the certificates given by both of these engineers should be examined closely.
