Machindra Chate gets two-month imprisonment for abusing ex-CM

Machindra Chate, owner of Chate Classes to undergo two-month imprisonment for abusing Ex-Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. The case went on for 17 years.

On 1 November 2000 Chate while addressing the press conference at Mumbai Marathi Patrakar Sangh Hall, Azad Maidan called Vilasrao Deshmukh spineless and impotent. Chate is found guilty under IPC sections 294 and relevant sections of criminal procedure code. He is also fined Rs 5,000.

Chate had requested Deshmukh to remove the then education minister Anil Deshmukh, as Anil alleged that HSC topper Nagargoje did not study in Chate classes. When CID started the enquiry they revealed that Nagargoje was from Chate classes.

Finally, after 17 long years, Chate is been proved guilty of using obscene words for Chief Minister
