Ulhasnagar police have arrested five persons who tried to raid a shop by projecting themselves as Sales Tax officers.
Though the story seems to be close to a Akshay Kumar starrer film ‘Special 26’, it ended badly and the accused got locked behind the bars. When this gang reached the shop in Shanti Nagar area of Ulhasnagar, the shop owner got suspicious and he detained them with the help of local residents before handing them over to the police. Police have registered a case against them and further investigation is underway.
As per report, three persons reached the shop in Camp-3 area of Shanti Nagar at around 12:30 pm and introduced themselves as Sales Tax officers. They started scrutinizing the documents while their two accomplices were in the car parked outside. As shop owner Shrichand Nagdeo got suspicious of them, he called nearby people and kept hold of them. He then called the police.
During interrogation, the accused accepted their crime. Senior police inspector Vijay Dolas informed that police are further investigating the case and finding out whether the gang was involved any such cases.
