On Friday afternoon, a man flashed at a woman commuter in a running local train on the harbour line. The victim chose not to file a police complaint but the whole incident was penned down by a fellow commuter who was apparently the eyewitness.

The victim boarded a Panvel-bound local train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSTM) railway station. As the train started, one man boarded the same compartment where the victim was present. As the local train left CSTM station, the victim screamed and Jitesh Utekar, who was present in the adjacent compartment, saw the accused flashing at the woman.

When Utekar and other commuters raised their voices, the accused went near the door and alighted from the running local train at Masjid Bunder railway station and ran away.

Though the victim narrated the ordeal to Utekar, she left the station without filing a police complaint. Meanwhile, he tried filing a complaint at Wadala railway police, but was asked to go to CSTM as the incident had happened in their jurisdiction.

Likewise, he went to the CSTM police station and tried filing complaint. He showed the picture of the accused as well, but the police told him that the person who suffered should file the complaint. Hence, police didn’t register the complaint against the accused, said Utekar in his FB post.

He has also mentioned in his FB post, that police investigated the CCTV footage between CSTM and Masjid Bunder railway station and are trying to locate the accused.
