A girl was recently raped in a local train between CSMT and Masjid. Now another similar incident has come to light. A young woman was molested while travelling on the Harbor route.
On Tuesday, a woman was molested in a local train going to Panvel from Nerul around 8:30 pm. The concerned woman had lodged a complaint in this matter. According to the woman's complaint, the railway police have arrested the accused. The name of this accused is Nishad Dharia. The incident is said to have taken place on June 20.
The woman was travelling in a general coach behind a disabled coach in the Panvel direction of the Nerul-Panvel local. Her future husband was also with her at that time. Accused Nishad Dharia started pushing the girl. At first she ignored him and stood far away from him. However, from Belapur to Kharghar, he repeatedly tried to get physical. Finally, the said girl approached the Panvel Railway Police and lodged a complaint in this matter. The police immediately took strict action and arrested Dharia.
A few days ago, a case of sexual assault of a 20-year-old girl in Mumbai took place. The 40-year-old accused tried to force himself upon the victim into the running train. The incident took place between Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Masjid stations at 7:20 am. The incident came to light after the girl screamed after the train arrived at Masjid station.
