The Kandivali police have arrested eight members of a family for allegedly causing the death of a 27 year old woman,
A 27-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison after continued harassment by her in laws. The woman was a resident of Faizane Rasool Welfare Society in Laljipada, Kandivali. Her parents on the other hand have alleged that she was poisoned by her in-laws.
27 year old Kulsum Khan was married to Nayeem Khan, a resident of Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh. Kulsum's family says the in laws were consistently making demands on her for a car and cash.
The family says Kulsum was not allowed to meet her parents and her in-laws kept on harassing her for dowry. On the night of March 25, she died after consuming a toxic substance.
Her father Liyakat Hussain stated that her in-laws constantly harassed his daughter for dowry. Kandivali police station, senior police inspector Mukund Pawar said their statements were recorded and the in laws arrested.
