IIT Bombay's Mood Indigo starts on December 22 and is all set to be a celebration of joy, art and culture straddling different genres and breaking the walls of language and nationality.

In order to cater to different tastes, there are a variety of events spread across Asia's largest cultural festival. With various activities. panel discussions, art projects, dance and music fests lined up across four days, the theme for this year is 'La Fête Carnaval'. 

Personalities that will be gracing the festival with their presence for different events covering a number of distinct genres are listed below.

Entertainment

With Akshay Kumar’s new movie ‘Padman’ releasing on January 26, 2018, the biggest highlight of Mood Indigo this year will be marked by Akshay Kumar’s presence on December 22.


Art

The Wall Project is a key attraction, especially for art aficionados, wherein artists from different countries will showcase their art on the walls in the Student Activity Centre.


Dance

The stakes would be high as teams battle it out at ChoreoNite, India’s biggest college dance competition.


Music

Day 1: Haken, a progressive metal band, will be flying down from London to headline the Livewire Nite on December 22. They have been touted as the Dream Theatre of the next generation.

Day 2: The Clinton Cerejo band ft. Vijay Prakash and a host of amazing musicians, who will be playing with a full-blown coke-studio-esque arrangement.

Day 3: To celebrate the Christmas Eve in style, Mood Indigo presents the EDM Nite with Bassjackers on December 24, a Dutch electronic music production and DJ duo consisting of Marlon Flohr & Ralph van Hilst, that features in the DJ Mag’s top 35 DJs of 2017.

Day 4: The fest will draw to a close, fittingly on Christmas, with some fireworks as Amit Trivedi, National Film Award-winning music director, singer and composer are all set to take the stage on the Popular Nite.


Activities

Informal activities and games have been planned at different venues around the campus to help the visitors unwind and make new friends.

To add the obligatory dash of Bollywood flavour, Bollyvaganza will see the hardcore fans switching from answering tricky quiz questions to getting competitive in the all-time favourite Antakshari.

Driving up the wackiness factor is the Freestyle Football competition, where participants will show off their tricks and flicks. The winner gets to do free-styling at one of Mumbai City FC’s matches!


Workshops

Interactive workshops with professionals, including heavyweights like Rahul Kaushik - owner of the Facebook page, The Melting Words and Neeta Lulla, the reigning queen of India’s fashion industry.


Comedy

Comedy has become an integral part of performing arts these days, and it’s no different here at Mood Indigo. With Mallika Dua and Sunil Pal dropping by, the Humor Quotient at this year’s Mood Indigo is surely set to go high!


Fashion

The perfect combination of poise, elan, and panache, 'She's Got The Look', Mood Indigo’s beauty pageant will provide its winner a direct entry to Miss India 2018 State Audition.

The flagship fashion competition, ‘Vogue’, that has seen participants and mentors like Parvathy Omnakuttan, Neeta Lulla, and Wendell Rodricks, is all set to go bigger, better and bolder this time.


Literature

Eloquence, Mood Indigo’s literary fest has undergone extensive rebranding and returned with a bang. Having featured notable personalities like Shashi Tharoor, Ramesh Sippy, Devendra Fadnavis, and Arnab Goswami in the past, this year too they have managed to bring in various big names and luminaries from various spheres.

Day 1: The panel will be consisting of Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys, and P. Chidambaram, a Member of the Rajya Sabha and former Finance Minister of India.

The panel shall be moderated by Faye D’Souza, the executive editor of Mirror Now.

Day 2: An interactive session with the popular author Ravinder Singh, who has penned several bestselling novels like’ I Too Had a Love Story’ and ‘Can Love Happen Twice?’

Day 3: Bollywood panel discussion with two stellar practitioners of their respective crafts - Manoj Bajpayee, a performer extraordinaire, and the vastly talented Neeraj Pandey, director of ‘A Wednesday!’ and ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story.’

The panel shall be moderated by Kubra Sait, one of the most admired and celebrated anchors’ in the live entertainment business.
