14 New Amazon Originals (India) for 2020:
Amazon Prime Video is one of the most popular OTT platforms in India known for its original shows and content, be it fictional and non-fictional. Ever since its inception, the platform has produced award-winning shows, and this year too, the platform is planning to launch both the sequels of its existing popular web series and new originals starring eminent names.
In a recently held event, the team announced 'The Forgotten Army' as its first big show of 2020. Directed by Kabir Khan, the web series is based on Azad Hind Fauj and stars Sunny Kaushal and Sharvari Wagh in lead roles. The show will stream on the platform on January 24, 2020, and has already garnered interest among the audience.
The team at Amazon Prime Video also released a video announcing 14 new Amazon Originals for the year.
1. The Forgotten Army: The show created and directed by Kabir Khan stars Sunny Kaushal, Sharvari, TJ Bhanu, Rohit Chaudhari, MK Raina, and R Badree. The music of the show is given by Pritam, and will be released during Republic Day 2020.
2. Bandish Bandits, produced by Amritpal Singh is directed by Anand Tiwari. The show stars Naseeruddin Shah and Atul Kulkarni in lead role. The music of the show is given by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Still and Still Moving
3. Mumbai Diaries – 26/11 will be a show on the attacks that happened in Mumbai. The web series on the much spoken terror attacks in directed by Nikkhil Advani, produced by Emmay Entertainment, and stars Mohit Raina, Konkana Sen, and Tina Desai
4. Dilli is produced by Off side Entertainment's Ali Abbas Zafar and Himanshu Mehra, created and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Written by Gaurav Solanki, it stars Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Mohd Zeeshan Ayub, Sarah Jane Dias
5. Paatal Lok will be a series produced by Clean Slate Entertainment, and written by Sudip Sharma. The cast of the show includes names like Neeraj Kabi, Gul Panag and Jaideep Ahlawat
6. The Last Hour will be produced by Fission Features' Amit Kumar, Anupama Minz along with Asif Kapadia. The cast includes Sanjay Kapoor, Raima Sen and others.
7. Gormint will be producer by popular production and content creation firm Only Much Louder, and the cast of the show includes actors like Amol Palekar, Manav Kaul, Shikha Talsania, Girish Kulkarni and others.
1. Mirzapur - Season 2 will also be written by Puneet Krishna and Vinnet Krishna. Created by Puneet himself, this sequel will be directed once again by Gurummeet Singh and Mihir Desai and producer by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment). The cast of the new season will include Ali Fazal, Shweta Tripathi, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyendu Sharma, Rajesh Tailang, Amit Sial, Rasika Duggal and others.
2. The third seaso of Inside Edge - Season 3 will be created by Karan Anshuman and directed by Karan Anshuman and Kanishk Varma. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), the team will remain the same, which includes Vivek Oberoi, Richa Chadha, Aamir Bashir, Angad Bedi, Sayani Gupta, Sapna Pabbi and others.
3. The much-awaited Breathe - Season 2 will release this year. Written and directed by Mayank Sharma and produced by Vikram Malhotra (Abunduntia Entertainment), the cast of the new season will include Abhishek Bachchan, Amit Sadh, and Nithya Menon.
4. Four More Shots Please - Season 2 will be produced by Pritish Nandy Communications' Rangita Pritish Nandy. The showrunners of the show will include Rangita Nandy, Ishita Nandy and it will be directed by Nupur Asthana. The cast includes Sayani Gupta, Kirti Kulhari, Maanvi Gagroo, Shibani Dandekar, Bani J, Lisa Ray and Milind Soman.
5. The Family Man - Season 2 will be created, produced and directed Raj & DK. The cast Manoj Bajpayee, Samantha, Priyamani, Sharib and Hashmi
The new non-fiction shows on Amazon Prime Video this year will include BBC productions' Sons of Soil: Jaipur Pink Panthers (Producer - BBC Productions) and the first season of Comicstaan Tamil produced by Only Much Louder.
