At a time when popular shows from the yesteryears like Mahabharat are making a comeback, Dice Media, the long-form premium storytelling channel of Pocket Aces brings back its popular web series, Not Fit.

The series was India’s first mockumentary which originally aired in 2015 and chronicles the journey of a struggling actor Neerav Kapoor, fondly known as Nero, as he works his way towards stardom. Essayed by two-time award-winning actor, Sudev Nair, Nero’s character instantly takes viewers on a fond trip down memory lane, with entertaining content that was popular during its prime years, and is still relevant and relatable with today's diverse audiences.

The rerun of Not Fit on Dice Media’s YouTube channel has already garnered rave reviews in the first few episodes alone, creating quite a buzz among netizens. From amusing viewers five years ago to now reconnecting with a newer set of audience, the series offers an irreverent yet a refreshing take on the prevailing hypocrisy in Bollywood, making it an interesting watch.

Expressing his views on the return of the hit series, Sudev Nair said, “Over time audiences have evolved, and today, mockumentaries are a fun, lighthearted way of looking at reality. Dice Media is known for creating relatable content, which has always been well received.  If the past success of Not Fit is anything to go by, I am sure audiences will love it all over again. My character Nero is a quintessential fool, working hard to earn his big break, and also learning the ways of the world, albeit in his own fun way. Through Not Fit, I hope audiences will see him for the pure soul that he is, and fall in love with him, just as they did five years ago.”

Dhruv Sehgal, who plays Aakaash, added, “Not Fit is a depiction of what goes on in an actor’s life in a hilarious vein. There’s a lot of love being shown towards the series, which feels great to know that we have been a part of something so ahead of its time. It's a show that will always be relevant.”

Similarly, Ashish Verma, who plays the role of Nero’s cousin Robin said, “Not fit is an exemplary reflection of the society that represents the world we live in. The show is all about the celebration of life, showcasing the pros and cons and how they can still co-exist together with love, supporting each other and creating oneness. I had great fun shooting for it and feel happy that it is back on screens once again to entertain audiences of today.”

Through this format, which has become widely received in recent times, audiences are in for a light satirical take on the pretentiousness that exists in Bollywood, along with the unwavering ambition among actors wanting to make it big in this industry. The title of the series refers to the lingo used by casting directors when they decide whether an actor is “fit” or “not fit” for an audition and such is the case for the protagonist of the series. Through off-the-wall methods that he thinks will see him through, and make his mark in the industry, Nero’s passion exudes as he overcomes the challenges thrown at him. Despite it all, he maintains a positive outlook towards his fate, finding a silver lining in each situation. Over the course of the series, Nero, through his antics, builds a support system of fellow actors, all of whom are in a similar situation as his. Through a peer support group, the actors mentor and guide each other in hilarious ways that they feel work best, to help each other achieve their dreams.
