The team of Netflix India's popular show, Delhi Crime, has a reason for a BIG celebration. The web series was nominated at the 48th International Emmy Awards, which were held virtually this year, and as per recent reports, the show has become the first Indian programme to win an International Emmy.

Information regarding the same was shared on the Twitter page of the International Emmy Awards, which read, "The International Emmy for Drama Series goes to 'Delhi Crime' produced by @GoldenKaravan / @skglobalent / @NetflixIndia," tweeted @iemmys, with the tags #India!, #iemmys and #iemmyWIN.

Sharing her excitement, Shefali posted a video on her official Instagram page and can be seen reacting with absolute joy shrieking "Oh my God!" 

Accepting the award, Mehta thanked the team, platform, cast and crew, Sundance Film Festival, and Delhi Police for the support. He said, "The project was led by women, it was financed and put together and released by women, this crime was solved by women, this is for the courage of those women and all the women who not only endure the violence that so many men inflict on them but then are tasked with solving the problem."

Besides Shefali, the show stars popular names like Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, Rajesh Tailang, Avijit Dutt, Gopal Dutt, Jaya Bhattacharya, Denzil Smith and Yashaswini Dayama in pivotal roles.
