What do you enjoy the most about this period - something you will cherish the most!

  • I think my lockdown period has been quite a journey of self-discovery. In the industry that we are in and also if you look at the city as such, life is really fast-paced and now all of us suddenly with no input or choice of ours we had to hit the pause button and we have to just grapple and make the best of what we have right now. It is a good time for me to take a step back and do some introspection work on myself on a personal level and on my skill set. It has been a time of self-discovery and I am quite enjoying it actually

What new hobbies have you started in this period?

  • So I have started cooking again. It's something that I used to enjoy but you know I got a bit lazy about the whole thing but I make it a point to make at least one thing every day it would be something simple like a salad it could be a sandwich or it could be something a little more elaborate. Of course with the lockdown happening we just have our essential goods and ingredients are little hard to come by so can't really make anything too fancy but it's actually more interesting because I have to think out of the box and I find cooking to be very very calming and it's a bit of a stress buster so it's something I am really enjoying. I am not kind of following any YouTube channel or cookbook. I am just going with the flow because I am a foodie at heart right! So I am just scared of putting those ingredients in my dish that I would like to eat so yeah it's fun

Three films/web series/content pieces you've loved watching?

  • Oh, There's a whole lot of content that I have discovered and in some cases rediscovered ever since the lockdown has happened. I posted, in fact, every day on Instagram so my fans and followers can also perhaps watch the same stuff. I have been watching Peaky Blinders I think that's really good. I saw this really interesting movie about a dystopian future on Netflix, I think it's called the Black Foam I thoroughly enjoyed that. I am currently watching the final season of Homeland I have been a long long fan of that show right from the very beginning so that's something I am enjoying and I recently re-watched Breaking Bad from start to finish all 5 Seasons and I mean I think that is on the greatest series of television ever made. So I have enjoyed that. Tumbbad is something I watched recently. I had heard a lot about it and finally watched it. So I really enjoyed that as well so yeah and also good content out there

What do you miss eating or drinking the most?

  • Well drinking nothing per se because luckily we’re doing pretty okay. I’m just raiding my dad’s bar if I need to have a drink but apart from that, I am not missing anything as much. When it comes to food yes, we usually just stick to simple Indian meal these days or in case I make a salad or a sandwich, nothing to elaborate. I do miss oriental, I do kind of miss a nice meal of sushi that’s something I do miss and I can’t wait for this to end so I can just go out there and eat all the sushi in the world.

Three friends, you miss spending time with...

  • This is a very controversial question because if I only mention three of my friends' names I think the rest of them will be very upset but suffice to say I am blessed that I have different groups of friends, some of my work friends which I’ve made on sets from cast and crews on shows such as Code M, Inside Edge, Poison so those friends. I’ve got some of my childhood friends people whom I’ve known for almost 30 years from the time we were in kindergarten school together and then there are my cricket friends the guys whom I often play cricket and jam with. So I have very different groups of friends so I actually do miss all of them but luckily you know with these apps such as zoom and house party it feels as if you’re staying connected every few days we’ll all get together and grab a drink and sit and chat it kind of helps with the isolation that seeps into after a few days of quarantine.

What's the one skill you did not know you had?

  • If patience were a skill it’s something that I’ve truly lacked. All my life I’ve always been very hyper but I think these past few weeks have left me no choice but reign that in and become calmer as a person and become a lot more patient. I think when we eventually get done with the lockdown and hopefully life goes back to being the way it was at least some resemblance of normalcy I think my patience will help me both in my personal life and professionally because I think as an actor along with the talent and all the other things that are required you need to be very patient because that’s the nature of the business. That’s the one thing I’ve been in working on while I’ve been in isolation.

Three places you'll rush to, right after the lockdown is over...

  • Firstly, I need to go to the gym. It is just the high that you get by doing a treadmill or doing weight training. I have been improvising it on home and if you see my Instagram, you will see the new things that I keep trying whether it is playing cricket or doing something or the other on my terrace. But it is not quite the same thing.
  • Secondly, I want a nice Japanese meal.
  • Thirdly, can’t wait to be back on a set because that is what I know how to do. It is the place that I am the happiest. Very few us get the opportunity to get paid for something that we love to do and I am blessed to have that. I was working on a project and I can’t wait to get back and complete that.

What is the most annoying thing you've observed during this period?

  • Without a doubt these stupid Whatsapp forwards. For every 10 forwards that I get only one of them will be funny, the rest are stupid or in poor taste. Even the most serious ones, you don’t know what to take more seriously. There are so many viewpoints and don’t really know how authentic they are and most of these could be misleading.

What has the lockdown helped you change or realise - emotionally or mentally?

  • I think what I enjoy about this lockdown is that I am suddenly getting a lot more time. Time to go spend with my family and time with my self. See we need to understand that from the day we are born till you die, the only constant is you. Sometimes we are so busy doing things, being around people or working towards a goal that we forget to truly take care of ourselves or to truly understand who we are at that point in time. So that is something that I am enjoying. It is kind of therapeutic in a way because you don't even realise when you are burnt out or jaded because there is a rat race that is going on especially in a busy city like now. So I am cherishing the time that I have right now
