In recent developments, the civic body of Navi Mumbai, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) in order to empower students has decided to implement six scholarship schemes.
Moreover, to avail of the benefits of these schemes, the civic body has appealed to submit applications in the prescribed format by August 31 2021.
The scholarship plans are as follows:
(1) Distribution of scholarships to the children of widows/divorced women.
(2) To distribute scholarships to students from class one to college-going students from financially weaker sections.
(3) To distribute scholarships to quality backward class students for education from class I to college.
(4) To distribute scholarships to the families of local project-affected people in the NMMC area from class I to college students.
(5) To distribute scholarships to the children of cleaning workers and contract workers in the NMMC area.
(6) To distribute scholarships to the children of quarry/construction/Naka workers in the NMMC area.
According to sources, students who have availed the benefit of Scholarship Scheme for the year 2019-20 are required to submit only fresh marks along with the application such as Certificate, School Recommendation Certificate, Income Certificate, Proof of current residency in case of three years residency in the city along with Certificate of Contractor/Head of Department.
