Gone are the days when children used to play outdoor games. Nowadays, children are busy watching TV shows, eating junk food and playing games on gadgets. This habit has led to obesity amongst children. In order to tackle this, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made it mandatory for every student to play outdoor games. To encourage this, CBSE has also decided to give marks for the same.

Play for an hour every day

CBSE has asked all of its school to reserve one hour for outdoor games. Along with this, students will receive a 150-page-booklet which will guide them through outdoor games. The booklet will also showcase few exercises for the student’s benefits.

According to the booklet, a student will have to choose one exercise which he/she will have to indulge in on a regular basis. This very exercise and determination will get them marks which will be decided by the school teacher and the same will be uploaded on the CBSE website.

CBSE is going to call this hour as Health and Physical education (HPE) and will be implemented in the academic year of 2018-2019. It will be mandatory for all children to participate in the HPE class.
