Mumbai’s civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has recently allowed several educational boards to conduct board examinations 2021 for students of standard 10 and 12 in the city.

As per reports, both national and international boards have been permitted to conduct the board examinations according to their official schedule in the written mode in Mumbai. Moreover, the physical examinations will be conducted in the city while abiding by the safety protocols in view of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, civic authorities have also stated that the BMC has permitted the educational board to conduct the board exams in Mumbai from January 18 onwards. The order stated that members of the International Schools Association (Cambridge Board) can conduct preliminary or pre-planned examinations of Classes 9 to 12. Moreover, other boards like the SSC, HSC (Maharashtra board), CBSE, IB, CISCE, and IGCSE can conduct the announced and to-be-announced exams of Classes 10 and 12 as per their planned time table. In the Mumbai municipal limits, some subjects of the Cambridge Board schools for Classes 9 to 12 are of February-March session and their examinations are starting from January 23.

On the other hand, the civic body in its order stated that the schools should follow all the social distancing measures, health, cleanliness and security guidelines in view of the outbreak of the coronavirus.

In another news, the BMC in a statement has said that the five passengers who recently returned from the UK and tested positive for the new COVID-19 strain, have recovered. Moreover, the BMC also sought to reassure the public saying fliers who had arrived from other parts of Europe and East Asia and had tested positive for coronavirus do not have the mutated form.
