In recent developments, the Maharashtra state education board has decided to conduct the optional Common Entrance Test (CET) for admissions to Class XI, first-year junior college, on August 21 between 11 am to 1 pm.

According to reports, the examinations will be held offline in a multiple-choice question format. Moreover, the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) based question paper will be of 100 marks based on the Class 10 curriculum of the state board. In addition, it will be available in eight mediums. Students can notify the medium in their application forms.

Meanwhile, the students have to answer questions from four subjects namely, English, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences subjects. The subjects will carry 25 per cent weightage of marks each. However, the papers will not have questions from topics that were omitted from the curriculum in 2020-21. Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad had earlier on Monday, July 19 informed the same with the complete chapter-wise syllabus being released by the state education department through a notice issued about online CET.

Earlier, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education had proclaimed Class 10 results and announced that 99.95 per cent of students passed the examination.

A total of 15,75,806 students registered for the SSC exams of which the educational institutions sent assessment reports of 15,75,752 out of which 15,74,994 students passed. This is the highest pass percentage of the SSC Board to date. In contrast to last year whose pass percentage was 95.30 per cent, the results ameliorated by 4.65 per cent.
