The Indian market is dominated by Chinese products and in the midst of growing tension between India and China, a group of school principals have asked students to avoid use Chinese products in school.

The Mumbai School Principals’ Association has requested students and their parents to avoid using Chinese stationary and goods. This practice is going to be implemented to educate and elicit patriotism among students in primary and secondary schools of Mumbai.

Common products which are made in China and used in schools are geometry boxes, watercolours, water bottles, sketch pens, erasers, sharpeners etc.

“It is important for students to be patriotic and know that patriotism isn’t limited to just Independence Day. This rule won’t be forced on students but we recommend students and their parents to avoid using Chinese origin stationary,” said Prashant Redij, Secretary of Mumbai School Principals’ Association.
