In the aftermath of a truck carrying question papers of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams catching fire, exams of a few language papers that were earlier slated to be conducted on March 5 and 7 are postponed, stated reports.

A notification was reportedly issued by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) on Thursday, February 24 that remarked on how some exams in the general, bifocal and minimum competency vocational course (MCVC) segments were rescheduled for April 5 and 7.

According to the account, March 5’s Hindi exam (scheduled from 10.30 am to 2 pm), and exams in German, Japanese, Chinese and Persian (from 3 pm to 6.30 pm) will now be held on April 5 at the same timings.

On the other hand, March 7’s exams in Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Sindhi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Punjabi (scheduled from 10.30 am to 2 pm), and exams in Urdu, French, Spanish and Pali (scheduled from 3 pm to 6 30pm) have been rescheduled to April 7 in the same timings.

However, other HSC exams will be conducted from March 4 to March 30 in accordance with the earlier schedule. The board reportedly remarked that since the confidentiality of the papers were compromised owing to the fire, the exams have been rescheduled for those subjects whose papers were in the truck.
