Students across Maharashtra looking forward to securing admissions in the 11th standard would soon be able to do so from August 16.

Moreover, the Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted by the State Board before the admission process. The state board had earlier given a deadline of August 2 to fill up the online application for the CET.

Meanwhile, the MHT CET is scheduled to take place in September will be conducted in two phases - September 4-10 and September 14-20. The admit cards, which will have details of the examination centre, reporting time, day and date of the examination, will be available on the official website https://cetcell.mahacet.org/

However, the State Education Ministry has stated that the MHT CET examinations for students aspiring for science, commerce, and arts will not be held this year. According to reports, the MHT CET cell will continue with exams for vocational training courses, management courses, and law courses. Moreover, the CET for pedagogy, physical pedagogy and integrated pedagogy will also start from August 26. In addition, the state government will make a decision in the next few days on reopening colleges after reviewing the COVID-19 situation.

Earlier, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, and the rise in coronavirus cases, the HSC class 12 examinations were not conducted this year. The examinations were previously to be conducted from April 23 till May 29 which were later postponed. However, in view of the second COVID-19 wave, and the possible third wave, the state soon announced the cancellation of HSC examinations. Therefore, the results this year have been evaluated based on an alternative form of assessment.
