The state education department has bought a great relief for the students who will be taking admission in class XI of the academic year 2018-2019 by increasing 9,500 seats. Along with this, 14 new junior colleges will also be coming up in Mumbai. This year, more than 3 lakh students will be seeking admission in class XI.

Around 4,460 have been increased for the commerce stream, while 3,760 seats have been added for the science stream and 1,440 seats have increased in Arts. Meanwhile, there has been an increase of 310 seats in MCVC and 1.6 lakh seats will be available for the online admission, which compared to last year, has increased by 4,264 seats.

Currently, the students in Maharashtra, who had appeared for SSC examinations, are completing the first phase of the online admission process. Post SSC results, the students will be able to choose colleges as per their requirement. Meanwhile, 14 new junior colleges have been started from Mumbai division, which will enable students to choose colleges as per their convenience.

The state education department will be conducting online admissions for bifocal courses for First Year Junior College (FYJC) students, starting this year.
