India needs to up the level of higher educational facilities: Governor

The Governor of Maharashtra, Vidyasagar Rao stressed on the need for innovation in our educational institutes and universities to be at par with the developed countries. He appealed to the former students to lend a hand to strengthen their institutes.

South Indian Education Society College of Arts, Science and Commerce has been given the status of an autonomous body by the University Grants Commission. The college was recently certified by the Governor and has been renovated. The Governor inaugurated the Ramanathan Library and the Laboratory. Among the attendees of the event were the Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University Pvt. Suhas Pednekar, SIES President V. Shankar, Vice President S. Ganesh and the principal of the College, Dr. Uma Maheshwari Shankar.

The top 200 universities providing higher education belong to the most developed countries and attract students from India in large numbers, as a result of which Indian professionals are adding up to the development of other countries. To change the picture of the education scenario in the country, the state governor expressed the need for India to be able to provide world-class educational facilities.
