Whilst many students were declared passed, with results being announced on the basis of internal assessments for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam, many pupils who wish to ameliorate their scores will be appearing for the supplementary examinations, Thursday onwards, mentioned reports.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the HSC exams that were scheduled in April-May were annulled. All registered students that include private and repeater ones had passed. Some pupils, however, wanted to enhance their scores, those who had passed the examination in the previous year, had requested that they be assessed and proclaimed passed similar to their counterparts in the regular and private domain. The state, therefore, persisted, that they appear for the physical examination. These examinations are slated to be held from September 16 onwards to October 11. Accounts mention that 12,341 total students from Maharashtra that constitute 4,744 from the Mumbai division will sit for the physical examinations.

On the other hand, recently, Uday Samant, the state’s Minister of Higher Education and Technical Education proclaimed that the academic year would begin from November 1, but in-person classes wouldn’t. Therefore, online classes will continue to remain the norm. With the decision to start physical classes to be undertaken in the near future, depending on the situation of covid-19 at that time.
