ICSE board examinations 2020 cancelled

On Thursday, June 25, 2020,  the ICSE board (CISCE) had taken a decision to cancel the examinations this year for standard 10 and 12 students.

The decision was told to Supreme Court today. by the board. and it is said that the students will be passed based on the scores of internal examinations conducted this year. The details for the same will be announced shortly.

The board examinations for ICSE students were scheduled between July 1 and 14, 2020, however, amidst the coronavirus lock down the ICSE examination board had decided to cancel them for 2020.

A few days back the Maharashtra government had also approached the Bombay High Court requesting for the examinations to be cancelled and had stated that the permission cannot be given by the government for the examinations to be held in the state. 

On June 25, 2020, the CBSE board also requested the Supreme Court to cancel board examinations for Class 10 and 12 students this year. The assessment for them will also be based on previous examinations and internals exams.

Maharashtra government, earlier this month, also cancelled the examinations of final-year university students. However, this was contemplated after Governor Koshyari stated that the decision was taken without consultation. He overruled CM Uddhav Thackeray's decision and ordered for the same to be thought again.

But, a few weeks back, Minister of Higher and Technical education Uday Samant confirmed that the examinations for students have been made optional. As per the new rule, students will currently be assessed based on the previous scores. However, if we wish to appear for exams again, the university can release schedule later this year.
