IIT Bombay (IIT-B) in Mumbai's Powai area has become the first choice for students who topped the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE). The institution recently released data confirming that a large number of JEE rankers enrolled in its undergraduate programs for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The final seat allotment for IIT Bombay took place on July 17, 2024. Out of the top 50 rankers in India, 46 students chose IIT-B.

This year, IIT Madras was in charge of the joint seat allocation process. However, it has not yet made public the seat allocation data for 2024.
IIT Bombay, established in 1958, is highly regarded worldwide for its contributions to engineering education and research. In 2018, the institute was awarded the status of "Institution of Eminence" by the Ministry of Education.
The 2024 JEE Advanced exam took place on May 26, with approximately 1 lakh students participating. On May 31, IIT Madras released the response sheets, followed by the answer key on June 2. The final results were announced on June 9, 2024.
