The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) played a crucial role in implementing this decision. However, HRD secretary R Subrahmanyam stated that there can be technical limitations in this implementation. As the exams are conducted on the computer, implementing it in regional languages will have its own set of challenges. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be developing a software which will help in conducting the examination in regional languages.

Notably, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the JEE Main in Marathi, Gujarati and Urdu languages till 2014 but discontinued Marathi and Urdu in 2016.
