Board examinations for Class 12 students were cancelled this year due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Officials from the education department had then informed the students about the new grading system which was used this year to score the students. As per the new policy, students were marked based on the score received in their Class 12 unit tests and semester exams along with Class 11 and 10 scores.

Minister Gaikwad added that students will be presented with two opportunities if they are not satisfied with the score received from the assessment. However, this will be offered only once the government approves the examinations post normalcy.

Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board also released the HSC board examination results recently. Officials said that the pass percentage of 99.37 was recorded and scores were given based on the new evaluation system planned by the government which included their performance in Class 10, 11 and 12 exams.
