Mumbai University (MU) recently issued the final admission dates for the 2024–2025 academic year, but there is a condition kept by them this time. The varsity administration has warned its associated institutions that if they fail to conduct admission procedures as per the schedule, the delay will cause them huge penalties.

On February 13, MU issued a statement warning its affiliated colleges of the consequences they will have to face if the procedure is not completed on time. The MU spokesperson said that certain universities fail to start the admissions process on schedule. Consequently, students who fail to submit their admission applications within the designated timeframe are either not registered with the university or, if they are, their exam hall tickets are not issued because the process was either declared incomplete or unfinished when it was started. As a result, obstacles are being built for upcoming admissions as well as the testing procedure. From now on, this will not be accepted.

Mumbai University has released the final admission dates for all faculty and courses for the academic year 2024–25 in order to make sure this doesn't happen in the next academic year. "Colleges will face penalties if they don't finish the admissions procedure by the deadline set by the university. A circular was sent out on Tuesday," said a MU representative, with instructions.

As per the decision of the University Management Council and Dr. Prasad Karande, interim director, Board of Examinations and Evaluation, any outstanding cases from the academic years 2020–21 and 2021–22 in colleges must have information about them submitted to the university by February 15, 2024.

The institution has set up a review committee to address any grievances or issues. The Controller of Examinations, Deputy Registrar (Examinations and Results), and Deputy Registrar (Admissions, Registrations, Eligibility, and Migration Certificates) shall report to the MU Registrar, who will serve as the chair of this committee.
