The University Grants Commission (UGC) has permitted Mumbai University’s IDOL to start three new courses

Introduction of different courses of the University of Mumbai University of Distance and Open Learning Institute starting from May 19, 2023 and will be available till June 30, 2023. Last year, 58,000 students took part in 21 courses in IDOL. In IDOL, CBCS Sessional System has been introduced as per the directives of UGC.

First Year BA, BCom, BCom Accounts and Finance, B.Sc IT, B.Sc. Computer Science course and first year MA at postgraduate level (History, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, Geography, Marathi, Hindi, English), MA Education, MA - Psychology, MA (Notice & Journalism), MA (Public Relations) MCom, M.Sc Maths, M.Sc IT, M.Sc Computer Science and Diploma (Degree PG DFM), admission to these courses will start from May 19 and last day of applying for these courses will be June 30, 2023. As admission to these courses is online, students should visit the mentioned university website https://mu.ac.in/distance-open-learning/.

The three courses are MA - Psychology, MA (Communication and Journalism), and MA (Public Relations). The admission for these courses will start from May 19. Eligibility for MA Psychology course will be BA Psychology and eligibility for MA Communication and Journalism will be graduation degree from any stream.

Distance learning for MMS-MBA and MCA courses

AICTE has permitted IDOL to start distance learning for MMS-MBA and MCA courses. Accordingly, soon IDOL will conduct entrance exams for MMS-MBA and MCA. Once it gets approval from UGC, entrance exams will be conducted.

Guidance and distribution of study material at the divisional sub-centre

IDOL has regional centres at Churchgate, Thane, Kalyan, Ratnagiri and Sawantwadi. Guidance regarding admission and distribution of study material will be distributed. Divisional centre will soon start in Palghar too, said Dr. Prakash Mahanwar, Director, IDOL
