The 'Online Portal for Sports Event Administration' system has been implemented with the aim of making the various sports competitions organised by the University of Mumbai more transparent, efficient and computerised. This online system will facilitate the online management of 117 competitions across 37 sports organised by the university.

Every year, more than 50,000 students from 915 affiliated colleges of the University of Mumbai participate in departmental, inter-departmental, inter-collegiate, sports festivals, Western Zonal, All India and world sports competitions. It was becoming a chore to keep records of registration, documents, qualifications, and related matters for all these sports competitions. Therefore, with this newly implemented system by the university, all work, from recording student information to preparing certificates, will be done digitally.

Additionally, through this system, all details of the players as well as the selection committee will be made available online to the university. This will streamline the entire process related to travel and daily allowances for students, as well as sports grants provided to colleges. Notably, each participating student will be able to instantly access their participation certificate and merit certificate, according to the claims made.
