Students appearing for examinations conducted by the University of Mumbai (MU) have to follow a certain set of rules mentioned by the authorities. Earlier the rule by during the examinations stopped a student from revealing their identity on their answer sheets, thereby avoid any malpractices during the assessment, but a few months back, they had introduced some changes in the answer sheets, which also included a section to students names.

But as per the recent development, officials have decided that students can henceforth only write their seat numbers, and the feature to write their name has been withdrawn. The same has been brought to effect since March 2, 2019. Talking about the same, an official from the examination department, said that the earlier decision to let a student write the names on the answer sheets was taken to ensure that one to trace the student copies easily during mistakes.

Over the last few years, authorities have brought many changes to the assessment model, by introducing on-screen marking (OSM) system or assessment of answer booklets with details covered with a sticker. However, following these methods hasn't been successful, where in many cases, even the answer sheets were not found.

More information regarding the above-mentioned change is awaited.
