The University of Mumbai begins admissions for degree programmes following the announcement of HSC results, with a detailed schedule and adherence to NEP 2020.

Mumbai University (MU) has started accepting applications for degree programmes at its affiliated colleges from today, May 22. The deadline for completing the application procedure for postgraduate admissions is June 15.

This comes a day after the Maharashtra Education Board announced the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exam results for Class 12 students on May 21.

Students can apply through the website: https://muadmission.samarth.edu.in/. The website also provides a video walkthrough of the registration and application processes. 

Here is the schedule: 

May 22 to June 15: Online name registration and application submission. 

June 20: Departmental online document verification 

June 21: Provisional merit list release at 6 p.m.

June 25: Students can raise grievances till 1 p.m.

June 26: The first merit list is released at 6 p.m.

June 27 to June 1: Online fee payments until 5 p.m. 

July 2: The second merit list will be released at 6 p.m. 

July 3 to July 5: Online fee payments until 5 p.m.

July 1: Start of the session

All affiliated colleges are required to follow the specified admission timeline.

List of Documents:

For students who wish to enroll in the postgraduate admission program -

  • Printed copy of a digital pre-enrollment form from the website of university
  • Completed admissions form 
  • 3 certified photocopies of their original Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) mark sheet
  • 1 certified copy of their passing certificate and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) mark sheet. 

For students in Divisional Boards from other states -

  • Provisional Eligibility Form
  • Migration certificate
  • 2 recent color photos of student in passport-size

Additionally, MU administration has stated that admissions will be conducted as per the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The admission procedure will be carried out for integrated programmes with multiple entries and exits, 4-year honors and honors with research, and 3-year degree courses.

For students who wish to enrol in the first year of 3- and 4-year degree programmes for the academic year 2024–2025 in affiliated colleges, autonomous colleges, and recognised educational institutions, the university's pre-admission process will begin on May 25. The university will soon release the schedule for this pre-admission process.
