FYJC Third Merit list to be declared on July 31

Alongside, Education director said that colleges with 70 per cent of seats filled can start their lectures but they will have to conduct extra classes for the students confirming their admission later.


The admission procedure of First Year Junior College (FYJC) students has been continuously delayed on several occasions due to heavy rains, technical glitches, server errors. However, despite everything finally, the third merit list of for FYJC admission will be declared on July 31.

Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court had last week ordered the minority junior colleges of Mumbai and the high schools to convert all the seats included in the minority, in-house and management into open category. After this, the seats will be available on the basis of merit only. So the education department had postponed the list which was scheduled for Thursday, July, 26.

However, during the hearing on Wednesday, the court directed only the in-house quota to be converted for the FYJC admissions. Accordingly, the third list of entries will be announced at 11:00 am on July 31.

New Timetable for FYJC admissions

July 27, 11:00 am: Announcement of the updated information about seats for the third list

July 27 and 28, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm: Students should fill Part 1 and Part II for admission in the third list

July 31, 11:00 am: Declaration of third merit list on the website

July 31 to August 2, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm: Students should take admission in colleges

August 3 and 4, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm: Students seeking admission for fourth merit list should fill Part I and Part II of admission form

August 7, 11:00 am: Declaration of fourth merit list

August 7 to 9, 11:00 am to 6:00 pm: Students should take admission in colleges
