Due to the sloppy planning of the Mumbai University administration, the students are constantly faced with stalled results and numerous errors in the declared results, disrupted schedules, confusion regarding admit cards.


MMS first sem exams postponed
The students of the Master of Management Course (MMS – Two Year Course) for the academic year 2022-23 of Mumbai University's Institute of Distance and Open Studies i.e. ‘IDOL’ has postponed the first semester examination by at least a month due to insufficient time to study due to announcement of examination schedule without prior notice and lack of necessary textbooks. It was demanded to be postponed.

After this, the IDOL department has decided to postpone the said exam. The revised exam schedule will be announced soon. The Master of Management Course (MMS – Two Year Course) was started in 2021-22 at IDOL Department of Mumbai University. The first batch of exams was conducted in online mode. However, the examination of the students of the second batch of the academic year 2022-23 was to be conducted offline for the first time from May 16 to May 24, 2023.

Required textbooks not available in IDOL
While the study material is available on the website, the required textbooks are not actually available in IDOL. Along with this, the students say that the mathematical formulas in many textbooks are also wrong. There are a total of eight subjects in the first session of 'MMS'. Study material for six of these subjects is available in printed form. Copies of study material for both subjects are available online. The study material of these two subjects has been sent for printing and will be available soon. The IDOL department has explained that the students have been guided online.

Exam schedule was released just 15 days ago
The preliminaries of the examination are given at least one month before. But the exam schedule was released just 15 days ago. As many students are working and studying in IDOL, it is difficult for them to get immediate leave. They are also likely to miss the exam. “Due to insufficient time to study and lack of necessary textbooks, the exam should be postponed by at least a month to June", said a student on condition of anonymity.

In this regard, Yuva Sena had sent a letter to Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University, Digambar Shirke, demanding to postpone the said examination by a month, and demanding that all the required textbooks be made available to the students immediately, said Pradeep Sawant, former member of the Yuva Sena's General Assembly of Mumbai University.
