Mumbai University is expected to soon release a circular to all the colleges affiliated with it, in accordance with the resolution passed by the state government on Wednesday, regarding the reopening of colleges, reported the Indian Express. The state government has permitted pupils over the age of 18 to attend college from October 20 onwards, provided they are fully inoculated. Those who aren’t, need to continue attending online classes. In addition to this, the government has asked educational establishments associated with it to curate vaccination drives for those pupils who haven’t received their jabs yet. The government has allowed colleges to permit pupils at 50% or more according to their capacity post undertaking necessary permissions for the local civic authority.

PRO of Mumbai University, Leeladhar Bansod was quoted by the report saying that according to the resolution by the government, the university is discussing the guidelines that need to be instructed to all the colleges for them to reopen to students. According to an official from the university, the said step will aid many students who are completely inoculated.

With an aggregate of 837 colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg affiliated to Mumbai University, it is one of the largest universities in India.
