Mumbai University win the 34th Inter-University National Youth Festival

Mumbai University and Bansthali University shared the title as well as the prize as they both had the same points. The two universities were declared as winners by the Association of Indian Universities

With a tally of 69 points, Mumbai University managed to win the recently held 34th Inter-University National Youth Festival. The victory consisted of six gold medals and three silver medals in various events of the youth festival. The National Youth Festival was organised at the University of Chandigarh by the Association of Indian Universities from February 1 to 5.

More importantly, Mumbai University has so far won the title of the National Youth Festival 16 times.

The annually-held national festival consists of music events, dance events, fine art events, drama events, literary events. The competition comprised of 27 such events and accordingly, once the results of the events were out, the top three colleges were shortlisted for the finals on the basis of the points. The finals were held at Chandigarh University this year and 106 Universities across the country were in contention for the title.

Meanwhile, Mumbai University and Bansthali University shared the title as well as the prize as they both had the same points. The two universities were declared as winners by the Association of Indian Universities.

Art and Culture are integral parts of our lives and due to the outstanding work conducted by Mumbai University students, we were the top university throughout the country in the National Youth Festival. I am very glad to see Mumbai University’s name is displayed as the winners. The future for art and culture is really bright and safe in the hands of these youngsters. I heartily congratulate the winners and the participants in the youth festival,” said Dr. Suhas Pednekar, Vice-Chancellor, Mumbai University.
