Municipal schools in Maharashtra to adopt Delhi model of education

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday said that the state government has decided to adopt the ‘Delhi’ school model. This will be done to improve the quality of education in schools under municipal corporations. 

As per the decision was taken by Ajit Pawar, all the civic body run schools in cities including Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Navi Mumbai and others will follow the education model of Delhi. 

This decision was taken by Ajit Pawar at a school education review meeting held at Mantralaya on Monday. 

The Delhi school education model is considered to be the best in the country today. To raise the standard of education being imparted in Maharashtra, the transformation in the education system under the Delhi model should be examined,” said Pawar.

As per the media reports, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government has drastically transformed the education quality in the capital. 

Speaking on this, Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said that the Delhi model will ensure better financial management and education standards. 

Ajit Pawar further said that education is priority of the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government and the Delhi model will be implemented on a pilot basis in civic-run schools in Mumbai.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been asked to study the Delhi model and develop a framework around it.
