As the controversy surrounding the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT)'s decision to drop Darwin's theory of evolution from the textbook has not subsided, the periodic table has now been dropped from the Class 10 science textbook. At the same time, it has been revealed that the elements of democracy and diversity, movements, political parties, and challenges to democracy have been omitted from the book of political science.

The NCERT has made changes in the syllabus and corresponding textbooks. In order to reduce the stress on the students during the Corona pandemic, many elements of the textbooks were reduced. However, many of these elements have not yet been reincorporated into the books. A few days ago, there was a controversy over the exclusion of the theory of evolution from science textbooks. Thousands of scientists across the country protested this decision. Now it is clear that the periodic table in chemistry is omitted from class 10th science book.

Many sections of political science books have also been omitted. Specifically, democratic elements are excluded. These changes are likely to cause controversy once again. Elements of democracy and diversity, movements, political parties, and challenges to democracy have been removed. It has been said by the council that this decision has been taken to reduce the stress on the students by reducing the size of the total course and giving students more time for hands-on learning. Accordingly, while revising the books, the council has been criticised for not keeping clear about which elements should be excluded and why.
