MLC Kapil Patil has warned to stage an indefinite hunger strike if the State government fails to take a decision on night schools till June 15.

The State government has decided to close the night schools from the forthcoming academic year. Kapil Patil appealed education minister Vinod Tawde to cancel this decision immediately.

“State government’s decision of May 17 to close night schools has made 1010 teachers and 348 non-teaching employees unemployed. Following this decision, these employees met the education minister but they got nothing from him. Hence, we have decided to stage a strong agitation,” said Subhash More, executive president of Shikshak Bharati.

Shikshak Bharati president Ashok Belsare alleged that the government has taken this decision to keep working students away from getting proper education.
