The Maharashtra government has implemented a new order for school teachers. The government has now issued a dress code for teachers. 

According to the dress code issued by the government, now teachers will not be able to wear jeans, t-shirts, designer and printed clothes. The government has also issued a notification in this regard. The notification issued said that teachers should be careful about their attire. Improper clothing of teachers has an adverse effect on school going children, it said.


What to wear and what not to wear?

A separate dress code has been implemented for men and women as per the guidelines issued by the government. First, talking about the women's dress code, women teachers will not be allowed to wear jeans and T-shirts, dark colours or clothes with designs or prints.


Along with this, it has also been said that women teachers should wear kurta-dupatta and salwar or churidar. Apart from this, women teachers can also wear sarees. For male teachers, it is advised to wear a shirt and pants, with the shirt tucked in and not out.

Teachers protested
Along with this, it has been clarified that this rule will be applicable not only to the teachers of government schools but also to the teachers of private schools. However, teachers have opposed this.

The teacher said that what not to wear is a personal matter and a local prerogative. Teachers are already aware of this. In fact, the government has also clarified that the dress code has been framed keeping in mind that the dress of the teachers should not have an adverse effect on the students.
