The examinations of 10th and 12th on Maharashtra were conducted in the month of February and March this year like every year. However, the results are still awaited. There are various posts on social networking sites such as Facebook that give out the dates for the results. In addition to this, there are also WhatsApp forwards regarding the result dates. However, the state education ministry maintains that no formal date has been announced for the result.

They have also appealed to students, their parents and other stakeholders to not believe in these rumours. They also maintained that the results of both Class X and XII will be shared with the media, and displayed on their website.

Some of the messages circulating suggest that the results will be declared in the coming day or two. However, there is no truth in these claims. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, schools across the country had to be shut, and Maharashtra is no different. While the results are awaited most schools are now connecting with students online to make sure that they are able to catch up with the syllabus for this year.

More than the parents of students in urban areas, the ones in rural areas are bothered with these messages of result declaration. Since the schools are still shut, they are reaching out to the teachers to find out when the results will be out.

Earlier in the month, in a recent conversation with Mumbai Live, Maharashtra State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad confirmed that the HSC Board Exam Results 2020 were now delayed and will not be released on June 10. On being asked about the same, she said, "It is not possible to announce the results on June 10 and they will now be released in a month or so, as the paper correction has been delayed due to the lockdown. Answers sheets were collected at the post offices and centres which were then sent or assessment to the respective teachers, and we are monitoring this process since May 18. We are working towards announcing the results by the first week of July."
