The 25 percent admission process for the academic year 2025-26 under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act has started from January 14, 2025. Online admission process is being implemented in self-financed schools and unaided schools for children belonging to underprivileged groups. There are 6,053 seats available in 327 schools of Maharashtra State Education Board and other boards.


The registration of eligible schools under this process has been completed and there are 4,685 seats in 255 schools for Maharashtra State Board of Education in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) jurisdiction and 1,368 seats in 72 schools for other boards. The admission process has been started for 6,053 seats in a total of 327 such schools. Online applications are being invited from parents from January 14 to 27, 2025. The Education Department of the BMC has appealed to the interested parents to fill the application form of their children within the given period for the admission process of class I or pre-primary class.


Parents should carefully select 10 schools while filling the application form. Also, those who have previously admitted their children to school under RTE 25 percent cannot apply again. The education department of the Municipal Corporation has informed that after the completion of the process of submission of online application, the day will be fixed for drawing the online draw.
