On Thursday, eight students were rushed to the RN Cooper Hospital in Mumbai following a stampede in the Mithibai College in Vile Parle. Three of them have been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The incident was first reported at around 10.30 pm.

According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) disaster cell, stampede like situation occurred when a popular band was performing at the state and few people tried entering the college premises.

A police officer from Juhu police station said at the Colosseum fest, a very popular group was performing and the gates were closed from all sides. Meanwhile, few kids tried to gatecrash, several students fainted due to suffocation. They were immediately rushed to the nearby RN Cooper Hospital. The disaster cell also confirmed that three students were in the ICU. One of them is in a critical condition.

One of the Administrative Medical Officers (AMO) said three patients are currently admitted in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) and one of them has suffered a rib fracture. He added as per the case history, patients have suffered injuries to chest and limbs due to the stampede that occurred at the college and all of them are currently stable.
