The directorate of technical education is all geared up to kick start its admission process for first-year diploma courses from August 10. The students who want to apply for polytechnic courses can register up to August 25.

According to a report in Times of India, students can choose the mode of document verification at the time of registration. In order to provide aid to the students, 336 facilitation centres have been chosen in the state for admission of engineering diploma and 242 facilitation centres for post-secondary diploma courses.

With the pandemic looming over the entire country at the moment, the department will offer an option of e-scrutiny of documents. Students who cannot opt for the e-scrutiny method will have to visit the facilitation centres.

Meanwhile, Mumbai University has decided to extend its deadline for the pre-admission online registration after receiving multiple requests from the students.

This decision came after several students complained of experiencing irregularities with regards to the internet and poor connectivity due to the continual rainfall in Mumbai. Students have now been allowed to register on the portal from August 7 to August 14. However, the students will only be able to apply to individual colleges after the third merit list is out.

In the past, degree colleges released their first merit list as a part of the Mumbai University’s admission process for first-year undergraduate courses.
