The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has recently prescribed for the admissions to the undergraduate medical and dental seats in Maharashtra to begin from November 6.

As a result of the confusion over the application of the Maratha quota at the moment, the state has decided to ask students to only submit the documents at the time of registration in order for the verification to be conducted at the time of admission.

Every year, aspirants who apply for the UG medical and dental seats submit all necessary documents at the time of registration, especially those who are applying for seats under various quotas, that at present constitutes around 62 per cent of the total seats.

However, this development comes after the aspirants had expressed the need to seek clarity with regards to the medical admission process for the academic year 2020-21. On Monday, November 2, in separate emails sent to the bodies, the students, along with the parents had demanded that the admission schedule along with a brochure and seat matrix for the upcoming academic year be released. Moreover, as per reports, the students had highlighted the fact that the admission process in Maharashtra needs to start by November 6, as stated by the Centre earlier.
