Vishaka Guidelines for colleges now
SHARES

Mumbai - Colleges affiliated to 13 universities in the state will have to impart training about the Vishaka Guidelines regarding sexual harassment at the workplace.
The state Women's Commission has made it mandatory for all these colleges to submit a report to the commission on the implementation of this directive by 31 March this year. Commission president Vijaya Rahatkar told Mumbai Live that this directive has been issued to ensure that youth in colleges are aware of the Vishaka Guidelines and the grievances cell that is required to be set up in each organisation.
Members of the grievance cell in each college, comprising three members and the college principal, will be trained by experts about the Vishaka Guidelines. This training will then be imparted by the committee to students. Rahatkar said that the colleges will have to ensure that students are adequately trained by the end of February.
