Ghatkopar - Many wards in Ghatkopar area are reserved for women candidates. This has forced many corporators to field their wives in the fray. Six out of 11 wards in Ghatkopar are reserved for women. Haroon Shaikh, NCP corporator from ward no. 124, has succeeded in bagging the ticket for his wife Jyoti Haroon Shaikh from his ward. The same is also being observed in case of Shiv Sena corporator Suresh Awale, MNS corporator Sanjay Bhalerao and Shiv Sena corporator Deepak Hande whose wives namely Rupali Awale (ward no. 125), Dr Archana Bhalerao (ward no. 128) and Ashwini Hande (ward no. 128) are in the fray respectively.
