10 Christmas movies and series on Netflix, Disney Plus to watch on holidays

A Giant Jack Christmas tells the tale of how a friendly garbage truck saves both Santa Claus and Christmas after the former is forced to crash-land his sleigh in a junkyard. Suitable for the whole family, this feel-good movie has everything you need to kick-start the holidays and get you feeling that Christmas spirit.

The film was released on Netflix on November 17, 2017. A sequel, titled A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding, was released in 2018 and another one in 2019, A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby. All the three movies are pleasant enough to pass the time during the holiday season.

Although it's full of cute antics and clichés, Operation Christmas Drop isn't just another holiday love story. The all-new Netflix Christmas movie, which debuted on November 5, sheds light on a decades-old holiday tradition organized by the U.S. Air Force. Parts of the movie may be fictional (like the congressional aide on a mission to shut down underperforming Air Force bases), but the heart of the movie — Operation Christmas Drop — is indeed a real thing.

Just Another Christmas has its heart in the right place, with its emphasis on enjoying the moments we have with loved ones, rather than on wasting time on unimportant distractions.The movie's time loop gimmick gets old fast and, with little originality to draw us in, it's a hard slog through to the film's sweet, worthwhile ending. Viewers who give it a chance may be pleasantly surprised.
