After not showing up at different award functions for a period as long as 16 years, Aamir Khan’s presence at the Dinanath Mangeshkar Awards is something groundbreaking if not anything else. While the Twitterati may not be taking this too well since it was BJP that branded him as ‘Anti-National’ and is now lauding the PK superstar, the fact that he broke his record of not attending award functions is definitely something that should be garnering more attention.
The award ceremony was organised to commemorate the 75th death anniversary of Master Dinanath Mangeshkar, Lata Mangeshkar’s father.
It was Lata Didi who had sent a special invite to Aamir Khan for this event held in the memory of her father. Further, he was honoured Vishesh Puraskar for his outstanding work in Dangal and was presented with an award by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
