It is often difficult to accept the changes that our body and skin go through as we age. Probably, it affects more when one is a public figure, hence that leads to the use of filters social media and even otherwise.

Actor Avika Gor opines that the increasing use of filters by most, even by the youth, has made it difficult for us to accept our realities and flaws. She talks more about it.

“I do use filters at times. It's perfectly fine to use filters but one shouldn't overdo it. It's a choice, I believe,” she says.

Whereas, Actress Jasmin Bhasin believes that while the use of filters on social media is normal, one should not overdo it at all. The actress says that your natural look is actually what is loved the most.

“We all are aware that as actors we are being observed and judged all the time but one should follow one's own gut feeling, whatever makes you happy you should do but it should be real. It's fine to use filters sometimes. There are some situations where filters really help. But don't let the filters make your identity,” Bhasin expressed.

The Ballika Vadhu actor then stresses on creating a positive environment and letting people be.  Meanwhile, Jasmin Bhasin understands why it becomes important to use filters at times.

“We shouldn't be judging anyone who uses filters or not uses filters. Our inner personality counts in the long run. We shouldn't overthink and over judge,” Gor adds.

Speaking on the virtual world and the effects of social media in our lifestyle, Avika says, “Social media is for us and we are not for social media. Young adults who frequently use filters on social media are more likely to be dissatisfied with their face and body. They judge themselves not only alongside ‘perfect’ photographs of celebrities and peers, but also against their own filtered selfies. This continual comparison might have a negative impact on body image and self-esteem.”

“Using filters sometimes is fine as we are part of the glamour industry but getting obsessed with filters or creating fake realities is not needed. Aging is a reality for everyone including actors. And I have seen that fans and followers also love it when we look natural in our pictures. It’s important to not set artificial reality standards,” Bhasin shares.
