Sonakshi Sinha took to twitter and made it official of not performing in Justin Bieber’s maiden concert in India which will be taking place on 10 May at D Y Patil stadium.

For a while now, singers did not like the idea of Sonakshi performing at the Justin Bieber’s concert. Kaliash Kher expressed his displeasure over the same. The quote he gave to a newspaper stated, “When we dont get a singer to open the act for Justin Bieber, it looks like there are no musicians in our country. This sends out a wrong message. It’s not like there is a dearth of musicians in the country”. He also commented on Instagram, “This entire argument between two different performers are no point. It should come from a show creatives/presenter, if they represent country's Art with dignity”.

Sonakshi was supposed to perform as a opening act which is schduled to take place at D Y Patil stadium. Talking about the same, director of White Fox India, Arjun Jain said, “With regards to inclusion of Bollywood stars, for music events of this stature which attract colossal media traction, its hard to shy away from the fact that Bollywood plays a very vital role in generating mass awareness and enhancing the global goodwill of the country,”. He further added, “With regards to homegrown music artists being given an equal opportunity at such platforms most promoters try to inculcate an inclusive line-up that blends well with the expected target audience at the event. With regards to the Justin Bieber India Purpose Tour, we do have a line-up that includes local DJ participation who do resonate well with the expected attendees at the event,”.
